About the McKinney Aquatic & Fitness Guide

This website is an independent, unofficial guide to the Apex Centre, the facility many people search for as the McKinney aquatic and fitness center. It is written and maintained by the McKinney Aquatic & Fitness Guide Editorial Team.

Why this site exists

The official information about the facility is accurate but spread across a dozen city web pages and seasonal activity guides. Visitors often want one place that answers the basics: where it is, when the pools are open, what a day pass costs, and whether a membership is worth it. We collect those facts, put them in clear tables and add the comparisons the official pages do not make, such as break-even visit counts.

How we check facts

• Every price, schedule, address and phone number is taken from the City of McKinney's own Apex Centre pages, which we treat as the primary source.
• Background facts, such as the 2016 naming vote, the 2017 opening and the construction cost, come from established local news outlets and trade publications, and are cited on the pages that use them.
• When two sources disagree (for example, 80,000 vs. 81,000 square feet), we say so and favor the official figure.
• Each page lists its sources and the date we checked them. All figures on this site were checked on November 3, 2026.
• We do not guess. If a figure is not published, we leave it out and point you to the facility.

Editorial policy

All text and graphics are original. We do not publish reviews, testimonials or staff profiles, and we do not use the city's or the facility's logos or photos. The site may display advertising in the future to cover hosting costs; advertising will never change what we report, and ads will be clearly separated from editorial content.

Corrections

Prices and hours change, often at the start of a season. If you spot something out of date, email contact@mckinneyaquaticandfitnesscenter.shop with the page and, ideally, a link to the official source. We review corrections promptly.
